We want to run a free summer club for primary school students in a deprived area of Wigan.

by Motivated Minds in Wigan, England, United Kingdom

Martyn spent 10 years in the British Army and 8 years as a Private Investigator, during both jobs Martyn witnessed the bad side of humanity but he didn't want this to be 'his story'. Martyn wanted to change his view of the world and his mindset, so he started volunteering at various youth groups and eventually working in schools mentoring children. This opportunity gave him a reason to see the world in a different light, a positive mindset and Martyn will do all that he can to help children who struggle.
Martyn created Motivated Minds to achieve his 'new mission', using mindfulness, team building and fun & fitness we encourage children to BE positive, BE confident and see the world in a different LIGHT.

We have achieved amazing measurable results in a short time, helping children with anxiety, anger, grief and negative behaviour.

Martyn created Motivated Minds as a Community Interest Company (Not for profit) so that we can give back to the community and to help more children.

We work in Beech Hill a deprived area of Wigan, we feel that some of our students will struggle with 7 weeks of unstructured time. We are looking to offer a FREE summer holiday club in the area. It will be open to 5- 11 year-olds between the times of 9 until 3 pm. Students will be given breakfast and lunch and will participate in various activities including mindfulness, team games and fitness.
£4000 will allow us to run this club for 2 weeks for 20 children each day. The children will be selected by the local schools based on needs.
