My name is Rachel, and I have been lucky enough to have had a great career so far, from working in Treliske on the haemodialysis unit, to the blood service, and now as a manager for a charity supporting and empowering people with autism and learning disabilities. I have worked with some challenging people over the years and have found that holistic treatments have had such an effect I couldn’t not pursue it more.
I have trained as a clinical hypnotherapist, reiki practitioner and equine facilitated therapist. This doesn’t mean I am a therapist for horses???? Horses are part of our team, meaning that if someone finds a clinical environment challenging, they can come and hang out in nature and with one of the therapy horses. Horses are incredible animals, totally non judgemental and work completely from energy, meaning I can understand a lot about the client by what the horse is doing. I also offer meditation and relaxation sessions for children and adults.
My vision is to first, buy a yurt. I am currently working from a tipi, which is beautiful, but sadly not waterproof! I want to keep a really relaxed feeling, and as I am based in a beautiful field, would like to be in keeping with the environment.
My goal after this would then be to secure funding for the most vulnerable in Cornwall. I would love to be able to offer a free service, to children and adults. I love the hypnotherapy work I currently do, but I really want to work with the women’s refuge, homeless charities, PTSD, the probation services and vulnerable children. I find that this group of people do not have the money to spend on therapy, even at a reduced price. I am so so passionate about this and I believe that it could make such a difference to the most vulnerable in our communities.
