Milton Keynes Festival Fringe (MKFF) focuses on a biennial event which complements Milton Keynes International Festival.

Showcasing an experimental programme of performance, visual art, film, music, and dance, the 2018 edition will entirely focus on presenting work by artists currently based in or originally from Milton Keynes.

Working across the town - in arts, heritage and non-arts venues as well as within its unique public realm - MKFF 2018 will provide a largely free programme of newly commissioned exhibitions, events and  workshops to reach a diverse range of audiences and communities.  MKFF 2018 will also see the introduction of a new online strand where artists will be commissioned to produce work specifically for social media and other platforms.

Aside from the artistic programme, MKFF is dedicated to providing opportunities for young people to gain valuable real life experience in the arts sector through our Young Producers scheme. Delivered with partner organisations, this scheme supports skills development, builds confidence and ultimately  inspires the growth of a new generation of creatives.

MKFF also strives to reduce its environmental impact and as such has previously received the Greener Festival Award in 2012. We would like to regain this title in 2018 and we are working diligently to ensure that all aspects of our work is delivered to meet the award objectives.

As with previous editions of MKFF, we need to raise a significant amount to deliver our ambitious programme. We are a small but dedicated team, who are committed to supporting artists and developing the cultural landscape of the town. As a rule, 80% of our budget is used for artistic expenditure (i.e. artist fees and staging costs) and only 20% is spent on admin, management and overheads.

Please do consider backing this edition of the festival, even small amounts are greatly received and the overall target will help us enormously to leverage in other sources of funding. Plus there are some nice rewards!
