After a great success in 2015, a group of 9 youth members and 3 leaders from Holy Trinity are teaming up with Youth With A Mission (YWAM), an interdenominational, non-profit, Christian missionary organisation, in the final week of July to share the good news to anyone we can.
Each summer, YWAM take on the exciting task of reaching out to the city of Biarritz, the home to almost 1 million people each summer, and do this through a variety of creative strategies, including: one-on-one evangelism, blessing others by donating food, drinks etc., individual and group prayer, surfing, preaching, music, arts, sports, helping the elderly, forging strong relationships and much more.
This trip will certainly be a once-in-a-lifetime oppurtunity for many of the group, and an excellent oppurtunity to step outside our comfort zone and continue our journey with God as young Christians. We not only hope to learn invaluable lessons from the YWAM leaders, but also create meaningful relationships with them and generally have a great time.
Initally with £3,000 to raise, we have successfully raised around £1200 through various fundraising ploys, including bake sales and silent auctions, as well as general donations. That leaves us with £1800 left to be raised. Therefore, each member of the group is aiming to raise £150 each; however, to cover any possible issues from other members of the group, further donations would be hugely appreciated.
