Hello, I am an independent candidate for the Burbage Lash Hill Parish Council election on Thursday 4 May 2017.

Why I am standing as an independent candidate

I have always believed that parish councillors should have one aim - to represent the interests of their ward, not to promote a party political agenda.

I have lived in Lash Hill Ward since 2012 and during that time I have organised free community events and activities in Burbage, including many in our ward, and I believe I can do even more as an independent councillor.

Why I am asking you for a donation

I don't believe in spending a lot of money campaigning, and I will use social media as much as possible. But I do need some money for printing - such as leaflets, posters and boards. I will be spending my own money but I also need your help to pay for these things.

What I will use your donations for

I will use your donations to print leaflets,  posters and boards, and any other necessary expenses such as room hire.

What I won't use your donations for

I live in Lash Hill so I won't use any of your money for travel or meals, or for telephone calls, or for any other purpose not directly connected with my campaign.

I don't want big donations

When you give me a donation you are giving more than money, you are showing your support. The amount is not important.

If you make a donation please give your name, address and phone number so I can log all your details to comply with legal requirements.

If you can't donate money you can still support the campaign, for example by telling friends and neighbours you will vote for me, by displaying a poster or by delivering some leaflets.

Legal stuff

Electoral law states that donations can only be received from individuals on the UK electoral register (anywhere in Britain), companies registered in the UK or genuine unincorporated associations operating in the UK. All donations of more than £50 will be checked and must by law be declared in my election expenses return. If we are not able to confirm your details we must refuse the donation. Please address any questions to me using the contact details given above.
