We are a group of 5 students from the University of West of Scotland who are currently participating in the micro-tyco challenge for Delloite and Wildhearts with the goal of raising as much money as possible during the month of February.
What is Micro-Tyco?
Micro-Tyco is a month long competition in which participants practice and learn fundamental business principles in a safe, 'micro' environment. Teams have one month to turn £1 seed capital into as much money as possible, the only rule being that transactions must be legal. Micro-Tyco unleashes participants' latent talents, fostering essential entrepreneurial thinking, resourcefulness and team work. Nearly 30,000 Micro-Tycos from Schools to Corporates have been inspired to learn the latest entrepreneurial thinking. All money raised by all teams that participate will be used to grant loans to entrepreneurs in the developing world to enable them to set up businesses of their own to provide a better life for themselves and to generate economic growth in these countries. The loans granted to individuals can be as little as £150 which doesn't sound much but to some people this is a life changing amount of money and this is how Wildhearts manages to help more than 100,000 people a year.
Any donation received no matter how big or how small will go a huge way to helping those less fortunate. This is an opporunity to give people a head start in life who otherwise would reveice no help and help them to provide for their family and save them from a life of poverty. Even if you yourself don't have the money to donate we would appreciate if you would share this page with others who may wish to help. We thank you in advance for any donations you are willing to make.
