We launched Mexborough Foodbank in November 2014 and, to date, we have already helped over 5,000 people with over 1,750 food parcels.

We reply on our dedicated and hard-working volunteers to deliver our weekly Foodbank sessions every Friday between 10-12pm based at Mexborough Family Hub and cannot continue to help others in need without their tireless support so a huge public thank you to all of our dedicated volunteers.

We are also supported by a number of local businesses who help us with donated food from time to time.

In January 2018, our local MP Ed Miliband visited us to see the great work we are doing. You can read more here -

Our food parcels are given out to people less fortunate based on agency referral food vouchers. We work with a number of local partner agencies and organisations such as Doncaster/Mexborough Citizens Advice, St Leger Homes, Doncaster Council Stronger Communities, DMBC Wellbeing Team, South Yorkshire Credit Union (Community First), Aspire Drug & Alcohol Services, Creative Support, Housing Options Team, Doncaster Housing for Young People, Green Gables/YWCA, Guinness Housing, Mexborough Family Hub, Conisbrough & Denaby Family Hub, Mexborough Job Centre/DWP, Denaby All Saints Church etc etc.

This way we know that the people we are supporting are genuine and are receiving support from other agencies to get them to a better place. We also sign-post our clients to the above partner agencies and organisations to ensure that they are receiving all of the support available to meet their needs.

We have recently experienced a significant increase in demand for our services largely due to new Universal Credit Claims and associated processing delays. Also, more families are struggling to feed their children during the school summer holidays as free school meals are unavailable which is why we have launched this Crowdfunding campaign.

Please see these news articles for more details -

We are anticipating another harsh winter with further increased demand for our services so we need to plan ahead. Your donations will help us source/buy more food as we need it to meet increased demand and also help with transport costs e.g. fuel, maintenance and insurance.

Please help us if you can by donating what you can to our fundraising campaign. Thank you
