WHO WE ARE
MetMUnch is an award-winning student enterprise based at Manchester Metropolitan University. At our heart is nutrition, wellbeing and sustainability.
We provide the skills and training to promote health and wellbeing. Our students and graduates take this
and apply it in sessions at university, community events, or in one-off creative projects. These can
range from on-the-spot nutritional advice and running pop-up stalls, leading fun, interactive activities and...making community cookbooks!
Over the years, we have done all kinds of things! Sometimes we're at the Science and Industry Museum doing toast art, highlighting the need for more fibre in people's diet, and sometimes we're at the University doing healthy eating campaigns looking at food waste, like our Soup-erheroes one below!
WHAT WE WANT TO DO
We are looking to employ a student to create a never-ending cookbook filled with sustainable recipes that will help vulnerable people in our community. This cookbook will tackle the rising living cost, whilst championing sustainability and improve the nutrition of young and old in the community, bringing the past to the present with a modern take on classic recipes representing Manchester’s diverse community.
Recipes will be quick, simple, nutrient-dense and have a low carbon footprint ensuring that those that are vulnerable have access to the food they require. The recipes stem from classic local Manchester recipes that have been modernised and can be adapted from home, to school, to care homes.
Please support us so we can help those that are vulnerable in the community.
