Last week, I lit a candle in memory of the thousands of people who have lost their live to covid. It seemed such a tiny thing to do and made me want to do more to SAVE LIVES.
During the lockdown, I have been blessed to meet two young men from South Sudan who, having been supported by the charity “Life Bridging Works”, are now at University, in Kenya, training to become doctors. Their aim is to return to South Sudan and provide much needed medical care to people who currently no access to any.
Next year, they will be doing practical placements in hospital and therefore need to have medical equipment and text books. I would love to provide all of the following things that they need:
- Littman stethoscopes
- Pulse oximeters
The following text books would also be incredibly helpful:
- Hutchison's Clinical Methods
- Hacker & Moore's Essentials of Obstetrics and Gynaecology
- Davidson's Principles and Practice of Medicine
Please consider if you could help with this worthwhile cause. One of the trustees of Life Saving Works, who is also a good friend of mine, knows these two young men personally and hopes to visit them in the summer. So, we can be sure the gifts will get there safely and be used to make a difference.
