Hi, my name is Alison and I am a single parent who lives in Worcestershire.
Recently I visited Worcester city on a shopping trip. I was deeply saddened at the amount of homeless people I saw on the streets. One young lady I spoke to said there was nowhere for her to stay of a night in a warm safe environment. Two young lads (probably about the age of my son - 26, if not younger) had very sad stories to tell of their lives and how they ended up in the situation that they were in, on the streets.
Maggs Day Centre is a safe, warm and welcoming environment where homeless people can go to escape social isolation in Worcester. They give people a chance to feel normal, have ordinary conversations and forget, for a while, about being homeless.
They are open 5 days a week for homeless and vulnerable people to serve them a hearty breakfast and a wholesome, healthy hot lunch.
Just £1-00 would buy a hot meal voucher for a homeless person.
£1-00, less than the cost of an hour to park your car to do your Christmas shopping.
More than one homeless person dies every day in the UK, study finds - Independent 8 October 2018.
Many thanks for taking the time to read and I do hope you can help me buy as many meal vouchers as possible for such a worthy cause, how ever little you can afford, every penny counts towards a £1 meal voucher. X
