I was lucky enough to be accepted onto the fourth MCMP Summer School on Mathematical Philosophy for Female Students, and selected as one of four applicants to give a talk presenting my own work. I will be presenting on a topic that I have been working on since my second year of university - Wittgenstein and the Philosophy of Mathematics.
The Summer school is for advanced undergraduates and postgraduates, and a week long. It includes three lecture series from leading academics in the field, as well as a range of lectures on other related topics from MCMP Fellows. It is specifically targeted at women as there aren't enough of us in this field (and in fact in philosophy more generally). It will be an amazing opportunity to meet other women interested in this area and discuss ideas with (and learn from) leading academics - including some who teach the Masters programme that I think I may like to take.
The summer school itself costs 200 euros to attend and then I also have to pay for flights and accomodation for 8 nights (taking the total up to ~£680).
I would love to be able to attend but there is no way I can afford to finance the whole thing on my own. I am also exploring other funding options but these applications may not be successful. Any amount of money you can donate would be greatly appreciated, if I can raise half the total amount, I should be able to go.
