We started to run Healthylicious Cafe and street food bar when the lockdown started with my husband, as he lost his jobs in hospitality.
Our sales went up until July, we were serving 100% plantbased healthy food, cakes, cookies for different dietary needs, vegan, keto, gluten free, paleo from whole, nutritios ingredients.
When the Eat out to Help Out scheme started in August it affected us badly, as we weren't eligible, as we didnt have indoor seating. Our trade came down to very low, and we weren't able to afford our employees anymore.
We employed 3 young people aged between 20-25 years old.
We had incredible feedbacks on our food, especially on our cakes and cookies. We won the organic support of many local, vegan influencers, who are helping to promote us as well. We know the value of our products, and the demand for that.
We are planning to set up a preorder shipping system on our bakery items to take out the uncertainity what COVID could bring us.
We are trying to set up a preordering menu system too, which is healthy and affordable, and people will be able to track their calories in it.
We need a major marketing boost to be able to reach more people, and let them know we are here.
The global COVID-19 pandemic has created a very uncertain landscape for millions of British small businesses, which is going to make it very challenging for businesses to survive. Together we can help them.
Crowdfunder are offering up their platform to allow all UK small businesses to pre-sell their meals, events, hotel bookings etc. for cash now on a promise to redeem these at a later date.
