Marathons for Books
We did it
On 11th September 2021 we successfully raised £60 with 4 supporters in 78 days

Our pupils will be walking around our daily mile track so see, cumulatively, how many marathons (26.2 miles) they can complete between them!

We know how important reading is for our children to access their learning. We want to invest in a greater variety of quality texts for children to develop a life-long love of reading. These will be for our library, classrooms and for children to take home to enjoy.

To raise money for this, our children will be undertaking a sponsored walk.

Our aim is to see how many 'marathons' the children can complete between them. We have a daily mail track on the playground and each child will record how many laps they undertake each day.

If we completed:

26 marathons this would equate to 681.2 miles.

38 marathons would mean we had completed 1000 miles between us.

50 marathons would be 1310 miles, which is around 3.5 miles per child from Reception to Year 6.

Physical activity is a great way to improve our health and mental wellbeing and we would appreciate your support in encouraging your child(ren) to take part.

We are hoping to be able to achieve (or exceed) our initial target of £500.00. Every penny will be spent on books for our children to enjoy and the more we can raise the more we can buy.

You can pay your sponsorship money here, or if you wish to make a donation then every penny is much appreciated.

Thanks for your interest and support.
