Why am I doing this?
As a Namibian artist I believe my music carries an energy of unity, reconciliation and healing. I was raised in a part of the world and in an era where racial segregation was very present. I have first- hand experience of how destructive this regime was.
These experiences have shaped much of the way I interact with the world, especially through my music. My music has enabled me to find my voice and has helped me connect people from all walks of life.
I have made a conscious decision to always treat everyone equally and with the respect that each human being deserves and I promised myself to always be inclusive of everyone. My music represents this essence and I believe my contribution to this world is ‘to bring people from all walks of life together’.
What am I asking for?
To bring this project into reality, I need all the support that I can get from the people that have seen my journey as a singer/songwriter over the years and who already believe in me and my gift.
The kind of backing I need from you in this venture is financial which will pay for the cost of producing my first album, marketing it and getting it out into the world. By investing in me in this way, you will be playing a significant role in bringing this project to life. I have created various incentives which you will see as a way of expressing my thanks for your generosity and whatever your contribution will play a big part in making this happen.
Why would you support this?
I believe I have a unique sound and timely message to share with our world. My goal with this album is to share my message of hope and equality.
This represents an opportunity to showcase what is possible when people come together to have an international impact. My song-writing, a fusion of world-soul, light rock and RnB, combine to reach across the generations and can make a positive impact on the next generation to believe that they too can do the things they dream of.
What makes my project great?
As an African raised in a colonised Southern Africa it was inevitable my music would be influenced by both the native and colonial sounds. Today this combination is my superpower. This is why I believe my music empowers and transcends invisible boundaries. Our world needs art with essence that educates and speaks to humanity about history and envisioning, but also about enjoying the here and now. This is what my album holds and this is my contribution to the world through my music.
All money raised will go to the full production of my album (11 songs) and it's marketing.
I will be going into the studio in late May and the album is scheduled for release in September 2018
