Last year Jodie was diagnosed with cervical cancer. Whilst being diagnosed she found out she was 7 weeks pregnant. Doctors advised all the way through to abort but Jodie stayed strong and stuck to her guns and kept her baby. Her chemo started once she was passed the 3 months mark and it was safe. She gave birth to a beautiful baby girl called Lowenna at 33 weeks. Intense radiotherapy started days after. Jodie was told she was in remission in February this year, unfortunately that didn’t last long. She started having back ache and before you knew it her cancer was back. This time it’s aggressive and fast growing. They were hoping to do surgery but after an internal examination they said it wouldn’t be possible and chemo wouldn’t work either. Her only choice left is a drug trial in Bristol but that’s only if she qualifies. Her kidneys have started to become blocked, they have put a stent in one of them and nephrostomy put in the other as it was completely blocked. She is currently staying in a hospice for pain management and is hoping to be out after a week. All she wants to do is to make some lovely memories for her daughter. I’ve set this page up so I hope this can be made possible for her, she really is the strongest person I know and I’m so proud to call her my best friend, even though she means so much more to me.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
