My vision is to transform theQuirkyCook into a nationally recognised brand. To make this a reality, I need to purchase new equipment to increase production and gain wider recognition of my brand through PR campaigns supporting successes in the 2018 Great Taste, including Ambient Product of the Year for Honeyed Fig Relish with Black Garlic.

A professional mobile-friendly website with an online shop is also needed, to enable me to capitalise on internet purchases and the seasonal gift market. 

theQuirkyCook is the first UK food producer of Black Garlic Condiments and creator of 9 Great Taste Award-winning Relishes over the last 3 years.  Plans are in place to launch a range of Black Garlic Ketchups, Mustard, Mayonnaise and Rubs over the next 6 months and to continue with the creation of innovative new product development.

In this year's Great Taste Awards, theQuirkyCook entered 4 new products for judging. 12,634 products were judged over 65 days by over 500 of the most demanding palates, belonging to food critics, chefs, cooks, restaurateurs and producers, as well as a whole host of food writers and journalists.

All 4 of theQuirkyCook entries achieved success including the Honeyed Fig Relish with Black Garlic which received 3-stars, a Golden Fork Award nomination for the Midlands Region, Winner of the Golden Fork Trophy for "Ambient Product of the Year" and nomination for "Supreme Champion of the Year".

theQuirkyCook product range also includes the 2017 Great Taste Award-winning Traditional Piccalilli and 2018 Great Taste Award-winning Hot Piccalilli, with plans for re-branding, a campaign for "Proper Piccalilli"and innovative new products for 2019.

I've been making and perfecting foods professionally from my home kitchen since 2008. All my products are personally handmade from scratch, using traditional open-pan methods. Only the purest of ingredients are selected, virtually eliminating unnatural preservatives and known allergens. My products are free from artificial colours, flavours and sweeteners and almost all of them are suitable for vegans and vegetarians.

My passion for handmade, honest food was nurtured in the kitchen from a very early age. This inspired me to build a home-based business with the aim of producing luxury "no-nonsense" products. My 5* hygiene rated home kitchen enables me to create, develop and produce new recipes to a high quality, empowering me to deliver a range of Black Garlic Relishes and Piccalilli’s that are probably the best you will ever taste".

It was at the Harrogate Fine Food Show in 2016, that theQuirkyCook first launched Black Garlic Relishes. One was voted "Editor's Choice and one was selected to be presented to a panel of judges, including buyers from Harrods, Fortnum & Mason and Selfridges. Their feedback was positive and sales opportunities developed with the South West Garlic Farm and their respective stockists. However, shortage of funds and resources resulted in missed opportunities for sales growth, wider distribution and ultimately, national recognition as the UK's first creator and producer of Black Garlic Condiments.*
