Makaton is a language programme designed to provide a means of communication to individuals who can not communicate efficiently by speaking.
I use makaton in my job and see how it benefits and improves a child's quality of life. Being able to communicate through Makaton enables a child to make themselves feel understood.
My idea is to train to be a tutor to bring awareness and training opportunities to the community.
This will skill people and reduce frustration and anxieties for children who are not understood.
