The purpose of Blinking Idiot Theatre’s 2021 outdoor production of William Shakespeare’s Macbeth is to bring lovers of the stage back to the theatre in a safe and accessible way after such a long time away due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
We believe that this project is a great, accessible way to start getting theatre productions back on their feet whilst ensuring audience members feel comfortable and safe in an outdoor location. Our main aim is to get everyone back to the theatre after so much time away. Depending on COVID-19 restrictions at the time of performance, we want to take full advantage of the opportunity to perform and bring as many people to the theatre as possible, regardless of education, social class, disability, etc. These performances will be incredibly accessible, and our top priority is ensuring the safety of audiences while getting everyone back to watching live theatre.

The company was set up by Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts students, Jasmine Brealey, Tabitha Hughes and Jacob Jones. The three are second-year Management of Music, Entertainment, Theatre & Events Students at LIPA. The teams combined knowledge and experience with producing shows, events and performing in Shakespeare productions will be invaluable when it comes to producing their shows.
