????? - Luke Maskell
Luke Maskell is a professional actor with a wayward route into the industry. A passion for theatre sparked in his school days lead him to a gap year teaching Theatre Studies to 11-18 year olds in Kent, before studying English Literature at Durham University. During his Uni days, Luke performed in a vast array of theatrical productions, including touring ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ in 2016, working with the Durham Student Film Society, presenting two radio shows and writing and performing in over 100 sketch comedy performances with the nationally acclaimed Durham Revue.. During his third year touring at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Luke was scouted by his first acting agent. After choosing not to accept his drama school offers, Luke began life as a professional actor in only 2018. Despite being new to the industry, ‘Lucky’ will be Luke’s fifth short film credit and will follow the wrap on his first feature film, to be filmed August-September of this year. Luckily for Luke, his character in ‘Lucky’ demands great versatility in his performance; let’s see which ingredients from Luke’s cocktail of strange experiences will enter the fray!
Even though “Lucky” is a romantic/ Drama its no less ambitious. The film will a have a distinctive look full of quirky colours, giving it a unique feel that will make it stand out from other films within the genre.
However, unlike our previous films which were made on good will and with some limited self-finance, “Lucky” requires a reasonable budget to make this unique story a reality. The money raised from this campaign will pay for all the films production and post-production costs, while also paying festival entry fees. And lets not forget the most important aspect of any film shoot to, feeding all the cast and crew.
First of all you’ll get the wonderful feeling that comes with being part of a film. But we also have a great selection of rewards for supporting our film. From a credit on the film, a copy of the film and even become part of the crew as an executive producer.
Once completed, we will be targeting a selection of film festivals carefully selected to allow the film to reach the largest audience possible. Ranging from established regional festivals to high profile BAFTA accredited festivals.
Festivals shortlisted to enter:
- London short Film Festival
- Birmingham Film Festival
- Raindance Film Festival
- Love Story Film Festival
