Welcome to my fundraising page for Rock2Recovery! Thank you for visiting:)
I've set up this page for those who wish to support me in my upcoming challenge of walking the length of Britian. Through the wind and rain, snow and sun shine (please!) I hope to complete this in 3 months maximum. I'll begin this journey on the 1st Septmeber at John O'groats, Scotland and i hope to finish by the end of November in Landsend, Cornwall. After looking at the typical route i have decided to make it my own and alter it from A roads and what not to a more scenic route hence the £1000 goal for a £1 a mile.
Rock2Recovery are a pretty brillant organisation and can't be summed up better than in their own words, their mission is:
TO PRESERVE LIVES OF DISTRESSED
SERVICEMEN, VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES BY CONNECTING THEM TO
APPROPRIATE MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS FOR EMERGENCY AND ROUTINE HELP. TO INSPIRE AND MOTIVATE SUFFERERS TO A BETTER FUTURE THROUGH THE POWER OF CREATIVITY.
I can't express enough how true i believe it to be that a creative outlet for a person is essential. Whether it be musically, visiually or physically this aspect of expression can allow a release of emotion or blockages and stimulate relflection. As a whole we spend too much time (anytime is too much time) worrying or franically swimming in a pool of negativity that we forget to just be, be here and now, simply.
That is why i've choosen to support Rock2 Recovery. Being linked to the military myself i find it inspirartional to see what they provide for their clients and want to be apart of their expanding journey.
All money raised will be going to the organisation so please if you can, donate what you can.
I hope to see you all for a boogie on my return but in the meantime shoot us a little video of your best running man to the proclaimers while donating.
