Started on my path towards a law career as a fresh-faced 18 year old. Through various struggles health -wise and then later finding myself unexpectedly expecting I have stalled for a few years. Just putting food on the table was my priority and being present in my son's life. I did go back to work when he was 5 months old due to financial demands but it was very much a job that suited his routine, rather then a job that suited me. Once I was eligable to get free hours for my son at nursery I decided the time was right to dip my toe back in, my self-esteem was rather low then but I managed to get a role as a Legal Secreatry in a local Solicitors firm part-time. My son starts school in September so it feels a natural time to dive into completing the taught-side of Law and applying to do my LPC. As this has been something I have been thinking about for quite a while now I have been saving hard and have managed to (nearly) save £6000 but obviously this is £4000 short. I have explored many, many options for funding but sadly due to my age (31) and intented qualification level (higher than a postgraduate degree) sadly I am ineligable for all usual postgraduate funding schemes, my only option is a Career Development Loan which I am happy to use to bridge the gap but the £1000 will act as a buffer between the repayment installments crippling me and the repayment installments allowing me a meal with more than one colour in once a week (maybe). Genuinely if there is anything you can donate to help. I have never, ever asked for help before. I have had my fair share of health problems and have worked very hard to not let it affect my working life. I just want to get my head down and get on with it. Thank you.
