Lovelace Primary School Parents and Friends Association (PFA) are looking to raise funds for our junior (KS2) playground. Last year we successfully raised funds to pay for a new wooden ship in the infant playground which is very loved but has highlighted a need for new equipment in the junior side.
The children have requested that the items that are chosen help develop their gross motor skills whilst being fun and physically challenging. It is proven that playtime is vital in developing a child’s mental health and wellbeing, which is why we want this new addition to the junior playground. The PFA annually funds new smaller play equipment, such as skipping ropes and basketball hoops but there is not enough money to fund such a large project.
Lovelace Primary School is a large community school of around 600 children, catering for two to eleven year olds. The school also provides wrap around care facilities, with both a breakfast and after school club, both of which use the playground space. These clubs would therefore also both benefit from this exciting equipment.
Thanks for reading and we hope you will vote for our school!
