From meteorite deposits at Stoer, to the Moine Thrust, to the Multi-coloured Rock Stop, the rocks in this Geopark played a very important part in my development as an undergraduate geologist. It is such a valuable resource, we need to be doing everything we can to keep it going!

Was going to bring my money up to you in a couple of weeks. Seems you might not be there by then. I will be coming anyway. Did wonder if I could do some volunteer work when I am up. Even if it is only to pick up a box of leaflets to take back to Yorkshire !

I agree absolutely with both the above comments and i am all in favour of the Park- do hope funding can be raised. However to be viable in the long term the Park needs to include Ullapool as its centre as the biggest local town thereby generating more local and commercial support. At present it has not achieved the focus needed by using a base in Kylesku, however correct that may be geologically. Suggest including Ullapool as the 'satellite' capital of the Park as obviously redrawing the boundaries will be difficult. It was a pity the Park was set up in the way it was, opportunity missed and one reason fund raising is proving difficult. These sort of comments are obviously of little use in the present crisis but I am convinced the Park has a future if it can in some way appeal to wider public support. Good luck,

If I could choose only one place in the world to have a geopark, NWH would be it. It is steeped in historically significant stories—not only of the land but also of the people who studied its rocks. Even from the other side of the world, my heart belongs to this place and it would a tragedy to allow such an exceptionally apt geopark to flounder for lack of funds.

This unique landscape is of international significance, but it needs our support so that it can be enjoyed by future generations.
