I am raising money for a charitable cause that is very important to me so please donate and help me reach my target in aid of Cardiomyopathy UK.

I've been on a bit of a bumpy journey over the last few years and want to give something back to the charity that provided, and still provides, invaluable support to me. I'm hoping you can help!

I have handmade this felting framed piece for one lucky donator to win.  For every £1 you give, you will receive one raffle ticket, £2 will generate 2 tickets and so on. All the proceeds from the raffle will go to Cardiomyopathy UK's vital support and research. On Friday 24th April 2020, the raffle will close and on Monday 27th April Cardiomyopathy UK will draw the raffle and the winner of the picture will be announced. Try your luck and give your bit to a great charity at the same time!

My story:

In 2016, I  was diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy.  I hadn't heard of the disease before and have since found out that many people haven't.  At the diagnosis, the disease and its implications were not explained to me.

In 2019, following a trip to A&E with shortness of breath and chest pain I underwent further tests and was told that unfortunately I had progressed into heart failure.

At this point, the disease was explained in full, along with the impact it would have on my life.

I was on my own at the consultation and absolutely devastated.  It really did feel like my world had fallen apart.

Looking back, I was so fortunate to have an amazing, loving family and support network of friends.  They got me through the months that followed, along with my team at the hospital, the support group at CardiomyopathyUK, and my felting.

My felting became part of my therapy, both mentally and physically.  It is the most magical process, and amazes me through every project I work on!

I made the difficult decision to give up work to concentrate on my health not long after this.  It was a really scary prospect at 44, but a choice I made with the plan to make the most of every moment and allow me every chance to reduce stress and manage the daily fatigue that comes as part and parcel of living with Cardiomyopathy.

Then in February of this year, wanting a focus, I set up Felt from the Heart, selling artwork centred around felt which I make by hand.

By donating towards this raffle you will add your piece towards my wish.  You will contribute to an amazing charity that deserves recognition for its tireless work.

Finally, I'd love you to visit, like and follow my Facebook page, where I post about my artwork and my cardiomyopathy. I have opened a shop on there which will be building over coming months. You can find me at:

You can also follow me on Instagram and Pinterest, both @feltfromtheheartuk

I also have my artwork in a bricks and mortar shop near where I live in Saddleworth.  If you are interested in any of the pieces I post on the page, even if they aren't in the online shop, please message me and I can arrange delivery if they are still available. 10% of all sales will be donated to Cardiomyopathy UK.
