“Lost Hope” is a short film based on a true story about male mental health and suicide.

by White Rose Films in Bingley, England, United Kingdom

Based on a true story, “Lost Hope” is the story of a single mother, Laura, and how she copes with the deterioration of her partner Callum's mental health leading to frustrations with professionals and avoidable heartbreak.

In the UK alone, 84 men die a week from suicide. That’s one every two hours. We hope “Lost Hope” will raise awareness of mental illness and suicide in men, and help other people who are in a similar position.

This film is being made with the support of various mental health charities including Andy’s Man Club, CALM, and Papyrus. It will be submitted to major film festivals for the 2021/22 season and subsequently pitched to broadcasters including Netflix and the BBC. We hope that through one or more of these channels it will reach a wide audience in order to help as many people as possible.
