I have been in service my entire working life, trying to make things better for everyone. First as a professional soldier and latterly as a police officer. I am now retired from the sharp end, but feel I have a lot more to give. I therefore started Drone Corps. Whilst it is run as a business, my primary goal is to assist others. To this end I often do not charge fees or simply cover my outgoing costs.
About three months ago, I assisted a local family who were distraught at the loss of their pet on moorland near their home. The original idea over and above what I normally do, was to use the Drone to spot her. Unfortunately we could not, the undergrowth was mainly ferns and was too tall. Not wanting to let them down, I used the footage from the search to edit a video. This was shared many times and as such other people have started to contact me to assist in the search for their pets. The Drone I have has no infra red capability and this is what is vitally needed to look through thick undergrowth. My company is a start up, so whilst we hope to grow, it would take a number of years before we were looking at expanding our fleet.
So this is an appeal for assistance to help me help others. Any funds raised would go towards the purchase of the best infra red, all weather drone we can afford. If we successfully achieve that goal, then I would undertake to run a pet rescue service along side my business - free of charge. Then if not spotted on the infra red - post the videos on social media, so you all can see the results and everyone can join in with the search.
My motivation is the look of desperation in the owners face hoping I can help them, with such equipment I can. That's it really. We never did find the original dog, but she may well be surviving still as sightings are received from time to time. Looking again for her would be my first order of business.
