I survived a heart attack 7 years ago. I could have been one of 160,000 people who are killed in the UK each year by heart and circulatory diseases. The research done by the British Heart Foundation helped save my life and continues to save many others.
Retirement from teaching in 2016 gave me the time to get fit. I was 58 and had never run before but last year I managed to complete the Great North Run raising money for the British Heart Foundation. Now for the London Marathon where I hope to raise even more for this terrific cause. It goes to show that it's never too late to start getting fit, even for those of us who've never really exercised before.
Every donation will go to BHF. And will also give me the motivation to keep going!
Many, many thanks for whatever you can afford to give.
