Northamptonshire Green Party has been standing candidates across the County of Northamptonshire for many years now, and hopes to stand more candidates in the 2017 County Council elections than it has ever done before.
We don't have the financial backing like other parties and so, while we don't like asking for money, this is the way we are funded - by our supporters. In that respect, we value every penny pledged and so you can rest assured that your money will be put to good use.
While we would love to fund campaigns for each candidate, that simply isn't feasible with the resources we have, so we have decided to focus our efforts in Northampton on the Kingsthorpe North division. Any funds raised in this campaign will go towards promoting our candidate there, Steve Miller.
Northamptonshire Green Party isn't just about standing in elections - we continue to try and make a difference in our local area despite not having any councillors at Borough or County level. Over the last 18 months, we have been monitoring air pollution in the town and raising the visibility of this issue at Council meetings and in the media. We’ve run litter picks in Kingsthorpe and we’ve established links with resident’s associations across Northampton, exploring ways we can work together. Getting our first Green councillor in Northants would be a fantastic achievement and a Green voice on the council would make a huge, positive difference.
Anything we take over our goal will help us get the word out in other wards or go into Northants Green Party funds to help us fund future campaigns.
Thank you in advance,
Northants Green Party
