To try and help as many young women and mums not feel alone like I did 4 years ago.

by Joanne Carr in Liverpool, England, United Kingdom

When I was diagnosed with cancer back in 2015, I couldn’t find any support groups for local ladies/young mums like myself.

Recently a group called Liverpool mummies with cancer was set up by the lovely Anastasia, here mums and young women can chat and share their experiences with each other .

This group would have been a god send back in 2015 for myself as I didn’t meet anyone in the same situation as me, a young mum diagnosed with an awful disease.

Any money raised will go towards sending some of the ladies for afternoon tea without worrying about the financial difficulties they may be facing due to diagnosis.

Even a donation as small as £1 can buy a cup of tea and every little helps.

Nobody really knows what it’s like to be a young mum with cancer unless you’ve walked the walk. I have never felt so alone and isolated in my life.

Yes people were great and supportive and helped out loads but I had nobody to actually tell my fears too, nobody to offload how I was truly feeling, would I die leaving my children without a mummy? This is an example of a question I asked myself daily and not one that I could discuss with my nearest and dearest for fear of upsetting them .

If you feel like you could donate as little as £1 please do. It will give a young mum half an hour to sit and have a cup of tea/some cake with somebody who has fought, continued to fight or recovered from Cancer just like them ????????????

Thanks for reading.
