Little Depression Pills aims to spread awareness of the often unlisted and ignored side-effects of women's contraceptives.

by Mollie J Carter in Falmouth, England, United Kingdom

Our projects main focus stems from the 2016 study released from the University of Copenhagen, which linked multiple types of contraceptive to depressive symptoms. Our team, including Director (Finn Hay-Lewis), Cinematographer (Lucas Stones), Editor (Imogen Harris), and Producer (Mollie Carter) decided that this topic was something worth talking about. In this 4 minute short doc we hope to spread awareness of the concerning statistics while collaborating with all kinds of women of all ages, body types and races. This is a universal issue that affects not only women but the men in our lives who are limited to little to none contraceptive options of their own. With the documentary, we hope to spark a discussion that will help to enact change, raise awareness of mental health issues associated with the pill, and bring together viewers in a much needed and important discourse.
