What is Lincoln Eco Pantry?
My dream for Lincoln Eco Pantry is to create a zero waste community hub. I want people to get involved and hands on with art projects, recipe ideas and events to help them take control and reduce their use of plastic. As much as possible, I’d love to utilise local creators and suppliers to reduce the carbon footprint of the pantry and support small businesses in the immediate area.
Why is the Eco Pantry important for Lincoln?
Lincolnshire is the second largest county in England; rich with history and teeming with wildlife. Over the past decade, it has come to light that plastics are one of the biggest polluters of our countryside and waterways, especially single use plastics, which are solely created to be thrown away. It’s my hope that the Eco Pantry will kickstart Lincoln’s plastic-free revolution and inspire its citizens to become more environmentally conscious. Currently, there are very few options for those who wish to buy food that is packaging or plastic free - Lincoln Eco Pantry would be the solution.
What are you funding?
Currently I have enough to get the shop up and running with a basic level of stock, but I dream big and want to see Lincoln Eco Pantry taken to its full potential.
What’s the crowd funder for?
With help from you we could start up with a huge variety of stock that would suit the needs of many. I’d also be able to invest in specialised shop fittings that would better preserve and dispense the dry goods on offer.
What are the rewards?
We have inclusive rewards ranging from a spot on our Wall of Thanks instore, a reusable straw set, to zero waste goodie bags. There are options for personal or business rewards too.
Let’s make Lincoln Eco Pantry a reality!
