Lincoln Community Counselling for Children

Lincoln Community Counselling for Children

To provide a stable emotional platform in young people affected by poverty so that they can thrive and build more emotionally stable futures

Unfortunately, this project was not successful

We are seeking funding to establish a community venue based counselling service in Lincoln supporting children and young people directly affected by poverty.

From a community venue, located in the heart of the most deprived areas in Lincoln, we would deliver 1,100 confidential 1-to-1 counselling sessions in the year, supporting 125 children and young people affected by poverty. The Indices of Deprivation for Lincoln show that 30 of the 57 LSOA areas are in the bottom third of the most deprived areas in the country. Ten of these rank in the lowest 10% of deprived areas for children affected by poverty.

Counselling is an extremely effective support tool to counter the negative emotional impact of poverty. The counselling will be provided by a blend of experienced and trainee counsellor, dependent on the nature of the referral. CASY is committed to aid the development of counsellors wishing to work with young people and provides a safe and supportive environment that places the safety of the client at the heart of its work.
