Light House is the Black Country's only independent cinema and mixed arts venue, consisting of 2 cinema screens, exhibition galleries and a great cafe/bar. Based in the historic Victorian Chubb Buildings located at the main gateway into the city centre, Light House offers a whole range of cultural activities as well as a full time cinema programme.
It seems such a simple thing. A sign on a building to let everyone around know you exist. We are lucky that thousands of people already know we exist, but sadly there are thousands more that don't and our experience and instincts tell us that clear, illuminated, 'exciting' signs would increase our audience and visitor awareness significantly and in a short space of time. This would then help to grow our revenue stream and assist us with our strategic plan which includes no more reliance on local authority subsidy.
One of the biggest questions we get asked by customers, stakeholders, new visitors, partners etc... 'Why isn't there a sign on your building'? Sadly, it's an issue we have had to keep putting on the back burner due to constant financial challenges especially more so recently in light of the austerity measures that us and many other arts organisations across the UK have had to endure.
All money raised will go directly to the signage appeal. Enhancing the external walls of the cinema building will ensure Light House's continued development and sustainability and keep Wolverhampton City a vibrant place to live, work and play.
As the building faces the busiest roads in and out of the city, the signage will be seen by literally thousands of drivers and bus passengers as well as the 100's of commuters who pass through to the train station every single day.
'Light' is of course appropriate for us as an organisation and even more apt for the City of Wolverhampton whose motto is 'Out of Darkness Cometh Light'.
So please help us by donating to us through Crowd Funder and let's get this building lit up!
