Project aim
Bringing Christmas back to Bridge of Allan, we need a cash boost to ensure our inaugural festive lighting project is a huge success.
About the project
In the heart of central Scotland, between the cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh and just a short distance from Stirling, is a beautiful little town called Bridge of Allan.
Everywhere you look in Bridge of Allan there are traces of history and of an immensely popular Victorian spa town. You can still see the same buildings and landmarks that a young Robert Louis Stevenson was inspired by when we and family visited to 'take the waters'.
We are a new community group called Visit Bridge of Allan and our main aim is to promote our little town to visitors both from overseas and much closer to home. One of the largest projects we have in hand is to bring Christmas back to Bridge of Allan, providing our residents and passing visitors with festive cheer. We've never had festive lighting before and with the Christmas family day we have planned which includes Santa and his reindeer, a mini traditional market and attractions, we feel that the festive lights will be the icing on the Christmas cake.
We ask for crowdfunding as we would really love the public, both local and national, to be involved with us. Bringing the community together to work as one is a major incentive for us to pull this event off. We'll be working with our three local primary schools also, inviting the children to design their own festive light and in turn, having this developed in to a light proudly displayed on the street for everyone to see.
Please help us to make this inaugural event a true success.
