Jane Smith is the UK's only dedicated representative for animals in human politics, having made political history by becoming Animal Welfare Party's first ever councillor in 2017 in Alsager, Cheshire.
On 2nd May local 'all-out' elections mean that Jane will be defending her town council seat. She will be standing for both Alsager Town Council and for Cheshire East Borough Council, on the platform of 'people, animals and environment'.
Jane's work as a councillor has seen Alsager become the first town in the UK to stipulate wildlife tunnels in every new planning application and the first town in Cheshire to roll out its own stand-alone pollinator action plan. Jane has also campaigned tirelessly against badger culling, fox hunting, factory farming and the game shooting industry.
We want to raise £500 to pay for local election campaign materials including leaflets to every voter's home, posters, photography and social media promotion. We have fantastic local volunteers ready to do the legwork of delivering leaflets and spreading the word, but we need to pay for the materials first.
Please be part of our campaign to secure a real voice for people, animals and the environment in local politics by contributing to this Crowdfunder to help get Jane re-elected!
