As we are gearing up to say goodbye to Oor Wullie's BIG Bucket Trail, we are sure everyone agrees that we want to see Oor Wullie live in the town for good, so All About Barrhead have decided we are going to do our best to bring him back to the town.
We have loved being a part of this project, helping the charity, bringing art to Barrhead and introducing people from outwit the area to our town!
On Friday 20 September, all of Glasgow's sculptures will be up for auction at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and we want to bring one of ours back to live permanently in Barrhead! Buzzin', designed and painted by local artist Bronwyn Gilgallon, has spent his summer on Allan's Corner and we hope to raise enough money to bring him back to Barrhead.
Knowing how much the people of the town have loved having Oor Wullie as a member of the community, we are asking you to help us make this dream come true.
If we are successful in bringing him back to Barrhead, we look to involve the community in choosing his new home. Whilst we will make every effort to bring him to Barrhead, if we are unsuccessful at the auction we will take the money raised from our crowdfunding efforts and donate to Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity, the Glasgow partner for Oor Wullie's BIG Bucket Trail. We would be massively grateful for any donations big or small to help us in our efforts to make Barrhead Buzzin'!
