Let's help Rachel get what she needs to beat Cancer and return to her friends at Siemens Gwynt y Mor.
Rachel is a well respected and loved member of staff at Gwynt Y Mor. Being a vital part of Coordinator's Team, she is well known to everyone. Rachel is bubbly, energetic and always has a smile on her face.
However, recently her life at the age of 25 has changed. Rachel was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer in December 2015 and had to have a major operation. Soon after, test results showed that the Cancer had spread. This was devastating news for Rachel, her partner Dan, family and friends. This news also had a massive effect on everyone at Gwynt Y Mor, and as a result we want to do everything we can to help Rachel with her battle against this terrible illness.
Rachel is going through an intense course of chemotherapy, initially for a period of 6 months. Alongside this, she needs a very powerful drug called Avastin, to help increase her chances of shrinking the cancer. Unfortunately the drug is not funded for everyone and her funding application was denied by the NHS. At £903.00 per treatment, Rachel will need to pay over £10,000 for her first course of treatments alongside her chemotherapy.
As a result, we are asking that you dig deep into your pockets and help raise money for this amazing and incredibly strong young woman. Every penny really does count towards funding the treatment.
From all of us at Gwynt Y Mor, we are asking for your support in helping not only our colleague, but our dear friend.
For your Information - The project will close on Friday 13th May 2016 - money donated will then be paid into the project account within 1 to 2 working days. Thank you
