Free meals for vulnerable people during the COVID-19 crisis

by LOVAGE PROJECT in London, England, United Kingdom

New stretch target

keep cooking free meals after reopening place, support other organisations helping, like cityharves and Lambeth age aid, Vauxhall gardens  community centre etc, pay our staff

Lovage Project opened a few months ago as a not-for-profit vegan community cafe, with big plans to start workshops and training this Spring for under-employed people to gain the necessary knowledge, skills and confidence to become chefs. Unfortunately, the situation with COVID-19 has forced us to close our doors, but we’ve decided to adapt.

We plan to reopen in April to cook FREE meals for our community, including those on reduced income or unemployed during this lockdown in Vauchhall area , refugees centre, LGBTQIA+ community and those who are elderly or vulnerable.

This week we’ll begin using our supplies to ensure that nothing goes to waste, but in order to continue we will need your help. We plan to make 200 meals this week, and with your support we know we can make even more in the weeks to come!

Got an idea like this?

Over £100 million has been raised from our crowd to support the projects they love! Plus tens of millions more unlocked by our partners.
