I have researched 60's music for many years, I used to publish a Fanzine and wrote many articles. Later I wrote articles for my website. In May Amazon printed and published a book which used articles from my Fanzine and Website without my knowledge or permission. After much hassle they agreed to remove the book from sale but once I mentioned compensation they stopped corresponding with me. My solicitor believes I have a cast iron case for compensation as both the Author and Amazon have admitted using my copyright material without my permission. Some of the articles I wrote cost me money in travel and other associated costs, I was working on a book of my own but now they have used some of my material this has delayed publication. The solicitor wants £200 per hour to take my case forward, they expect a minimum of 10 hours work. I'm retired , I haven't got that type of money, it will be a shame if Amazon get away with this and it leaves them open to do the same thing to other writers.
