If you have missed the chance to pledge online please send contributions to the Windermere Centre

Since 2002 Lawrence Moore has been Director of the  Windermere Centre, one of the United Reformed Church's four Resource Centre's for Learning throughout the UK. He is now moving on after 14 years into new adventures of faith to continue offering to resource the Church - but to do so living in faith!

Of the many things Lawrence has taught us, two come to mind:

  • Following the example of Jesus, Christians need to offer Radical Hospitality. In recent years Lawrence brought in a payment model called Pay What You Can at the Windermere Centre to allow people to come and benefit from learning opportunities irrespective of their abilty to pay, while others who are able have contributed more to allow the Centre's work to begin to flourish again.
  • Lawrence has also encouraged the Church to  embrace digital opportunities fully and is the founder of iChurch, the system which has helped over a hundred churches get online.

It seems fitting then, as we prepare to say farewell to Lawrence and  send him out to Walk the Way, that instead of calling together donations for a 'leaving gift',  we set up this funding page to allow all of us who have benefited from Lawrence's friendship, wisdom, leadership and enthusiasm to PAY WHAT WE CAN via an ONLINE resource in order to crowdfund Lawrence to create a forthcoming piece of work as he lives by the generosity of those he will serve and accompany.

If you have valued Lawrence's work at the Windermere Centre, if your Church uses iChurch, if you have personally benefited from any of the resources currently coming out of the Windermere Centre, then please Pay What You Can in thanksgiving to God for this remarkable and gifted man whom it has been our pleasure to have as a companion at the Windermere Centre, and who now walks ahead of us to prepare the Way we will Walk following Jesus.
