We are fundraising for the production of new play, Last Night I Met You Dreaming, by Rebecca Tortora, a magic realist story, about a journalist who uncovers the truth about a dangerous mining operation, with the help of the spirit world. The show combines text, movement, music, illustration, and projection mapping, to tell a story of loss, hope, and rebellion.
The script has been developed from an R and D process with numerous talented artists and is inspired by Isabelle Allende, Naomi Klein and Eve Ensler.
The show is a being produced by Fit to Burst and Upstart Theatre and is programmed to take place at Ovalhouse Theatre as part of their artist's development programme First Bites in June 2018. The aim is to test the script with actors, set, costume, music and projection before going into full production and touring.
We are raising money to match with Arts Council Funding and Ovalhouse in kind support, in order to deliver projection testing, rehearsals, 3 live performances, open rehearsals for Ovalhouse community, workshops with Ovalhouse Young Company and Ovalhouse Youth Theatre, the production of a trailer and marketing materials to secure tour bookings for 2019. We are working in collaboration with the Animation Department at London Metropolitan University.
We have already raised £775 from our fundraising event in March and £200 from the Unity Theatre Trust. We now need to raise our remaining target of £1485. Help us to make it happen!
Last Night I Met You Dreaming is supported using public money from Arts Council England.
Thanks so much for your support!
