Following the COVID-19 pandemic, we are attempting to improve the facilities on offer at our sports field. Our sports field is one of the last remaining few in the rural Eden Valley in Cumbria, and we host teams playing football (youth and adult), cricket, croquet, archery and yoga. Our sports field is bordered on one side by the busy A686 road, and we would like to invest in a new 2-metre high fence to help the interference of balls and players on the road. We would also like to make our sports field an all year round facility, and to do this we need to invest in the lighting on offer. We would like new portable flood lights, so the clubs we host do not need to rely on the limited all-weather artificial facilities available in the area. We require new goalposts for the youth and adult football that takes place on the sports field, and that will be a vital part of our investment in the field. We need to protect and improve sports participation, and especially in rural Britain, where it is a welcome get together for people who spend so much time of their week in isolation.
