Hi, my name is Kris and I join this site in a bid to raise both awareness and money for the st Joseph hospice and also help to aid in laying my father to rest.
I lost my father to lung cancer in march 2015. I had never lost anyone close to myself nor known anyone who had, had to deal with cancer. Through these unfortunate circumstances myself and my father were introduced to the St Joseph's hospice.
I myself am a London firefighter and through my job have to deal with members of the public compassionately due to loss etc, however the way the St Joseph hospice helped my father, myself and my family was incredible, with the majority of the staff working as volunteers.
Although I have expressed my thanks and appreciation to the St Joseph hospice, I am know in a place to try to help to do more than just say thankyou.
I will be running the London marathon and fundraising for the hospice. I will also be volunteering my time to the centres in my area.
I ask for help firstly in order to raise awareness and much needed funds for the hospice and also to finally lay my father to rest with a plaque and rose bush at the cemetery where my dad wish to be laid.
I was unable to afford the service he wanted and after giving me all that he could throughout my life I just want to be able to grant him his last wish to be with his mum. I have saved towards this myself somewhat but have found this difficult with various financial constraints
Please help in anyway you can, this cause is more than just a donation as the hospices work is never done and I will dedicate myself to help in there services and anyone else I can, who's lives are touched by such sad events.
Thankyou for taking time read
