I’ve had the pleasure of working with Komedia for over a decade now. They provide invaluable support for my work training and helping stand-up comics to develop through my stand-up comedy workshops and our monthly comedy night. We’ve been able to help many new comedians to get into the comedy industry and establish a professional career, alongside empowering individuals with new learning and the confidence that having a go a stand-up comedy can bring. Having run a successful weekend comedy course at the wonderful Komedia Bath I definitely plan to do more in the future.
I was so happy and excited when Komedia first opened its doors in Bath - there wasn't a venue quite like it in the city, and there still isn't. And it just gets better and better. Their programme is so varied and interesting - there is truly something for everyone, whatever your age. I have seen so many brilliant, entertaining, surprising and exciting shows over the years, always feeling comfortable and welcome in Komedia's relaxed and friendly atmosphere. It's a happy place (and we all need more of those!), so I am proud and excited to have the opportunity to invest in Komedia and its wonderful people, to keep it right here in Bath as an important, vibrant part of the life-blood of this great and beautiful city, for everyone to enjoy into the future.
Vital to keep Komedia going if we want to attract decent bands and comedians to Bath, otherwise we will be entirely reliant on the bland, corporate, venues 15 miles west of Bath. Having seen PIL, Half Man Half Biscuit, Adam Ant, and John Hegley here in recent years, and the comedian Lucy Porter, I'd be so sad to see this great venue cease trading, or taken over by a McEntertainment chain.
Every time I visit Bath I get tickets to the Krater Club. Always have a cracking time! The venue is part of the social fabric of the city now and I’m proud to have invested in its future! I know the Komedia Team and I trust them, moreover, I respect their decision to go into community ownership. What a fantastic idea! At the end of the day it's us, our family & friends and all the generations to come that will benefit so please join us!
It is key to have venues like Komedia operating in Bath and the South West not only for people to be able to see comedy in its many forms but also for the comedy industry itself. We need to do what we can as a community to to make sure the venue is operating in ten years, twenty years, fifty years, even one hundred years time.
Komedia is a vibrant and vital part of Baths cultural offering and I am proud to have helped shape this business over the last five years. With investment from the community I firmly believe that Komedia can continue to be the vital, mid-scale venue that the city of Bath so greatly needs.
There's nowhere else in Bath like Komedia: a venue putting on world class comedy, music and arts performances, at affordable prices, week in, week out. If you care about the region having the ability to attract and showcase this kind of entertainment, you simply have to invest in its future. Good luck!
I've been to Komedia, several times, it's a fantastic venue. The team have done an absolutely fantastic job bringing this building back into life as a vibrant community asset. I am more than happy to become a part owner and hopefully be a small part of its exciting future. I hope hundreds more will too. Good luck!
