Knowl Hill School is raising money to buy a cargo net climbing frame for the school playground.

We would like to raise money to improve the children’s play area at our school, to enable our pupils to gain confidence and use energy at play.  We did have a cargo net in the playground until a year or so ago, but it was used so much that it became worn and unsafe, and it had to be removed, to the disappointment of the children.

We must ensure that this equipment is durable and of the highest quality for the safety of our pupils; unfortunately this makes the unit we have chosen expensive, at a cost of £1,165.00.  With a generous donation from one of our teachers, we have raised £250.00 towards the cargo net already, but we still have £915.00 to find.  As our parents and friends will be aware, the school is suffering the effects of education cuts which effect the budgets for these one-off purchases.

For those who do not know about Knowl Hill, here is a short resume:

Knowl Hill School is a local co-educational school for children between the ages of 7 and 16, set up by The Knowl Hill Foundation, a charitable trust.  It was founded in 1984 to teach children with Dyslexia and other specific learning difficulties, such as Dyspraxia, Attention Deficit and some Autistic Spectrum Disorders. Many of our pupils have been unable to stay in mainstream education and the specialist teaching methods of our school attract those who have had a difficult start to their education.

We would like to award the tutor group who raise the most funds the opportunity to have a treat during the school day e.g. Mufti Day, trip to the park, extended break time, etc.

Please note: When you make a donation, write your child's tutor group next to your name.

And please forward this link to friends and family!
