We would like to take the opportunity of introducing our exciting project to you....

As you may be aware, the former ABC Cinema & adjacent former YWCA buildings on the east end of Kirkcaldy’s High Street are currently sitting unused since 2000 & now in the unfortunate state of disrepair. This magnificent & much loved building, which had been an integral part of Kirkcaldy’s cultural scene is now under threat of vanishing from our high street entirely. However, the former ABC cinema building not only has a rich but little known heritage, but also holds immense potential for what this beautiful building could become, not only for itself, but for Kirkcaldy & Fife; to bring this much loved building back into use, not just only for ourselves to enjoy, but to inspire & entertain future theatre/arts/music lovers for generations to come. Our vision is bring back to life the former ABC cinema to what it was known as BEFORE the ABC..as Fife's Largest & Most Prestigous Theatre, arts & Live Music Venue.

THE KINGS THEATRE KIRKCALDY

A 2000 seat theatre/music venue, incorporating a high end corporate meetings/events & private function suite, with a fine dining restaurant. Just imagine: A Venue with the potential to hold world class Theatre & music, such as Scottish Opera, Scottish Ballet, National Theatre of Scotland, Royal Scottish National Orchestra & BBC Scotland symphony Orchestra. Large Scale Musicals Such as Wicked & Rocky Horror Picture Show. Big international Bands such as.......well, we invite you to suggest!

Not only will this put Kirkcaldy back on the map, but would significantly help change the fortunes of Kirkcaldy. It would massively encourage people around Fife & beyond to Visit Kirkcaldy which would then in turn boost the Local economy Massively!! Above all, Kirkcaldy & the People of Kirkcaldy not only need this, but DESERVE this.

We invite you to dare to dream & realise the Potential. The money raised here will be used for in depth building surveys, structural reports, feasibility studies, & above all, funds to secure the buildings as wind & watertight for the winter, so at least there is a building to save!,
