The Kings Hedges Family Support Project (reg charity no 1107581) was set up in 1995 in order to provide support to local families, initially in the King’s Hedges area of Cambridge. We now run three weekly drop -in family support sessions in three separate Wards in Cambridge City (from two Children’s Centres and a Community Centre), chosen for their high levels of deprivation in a comparatively prosperous city. Our charity’s vision is “Confident Parenting- Happier Children”.
The Kings Hedges Family Support Project is open to any family in the local area with babies and children aged 3 and under. The drop-in sessions offer families access to advice and support and a nurturing and safe space for their child to play. Trained and experienced Family Support Workers settle in new families and are on hand to chat to parents and carers, supporting with any issues that they attend with.
We are seeking funding in order to help us offer opportunities for local people to volunteer with our fantastic project.
