I am currently trying to launch my own fitness studio within the community which is called Kinetic Studios.

by Dean Simcock in Stockport, England, United Kingdom

My wish is to transform the studio above into a community based functional fitness studio called Kinetic Studios. The dream behind this concept is to bring functional classes to the community and open up the studio free of charge for two sessions per week for veteran personnel. (this includes the British Army, Navy, and Royal Air Force). Members of the UK armed forces are twice as likely to develop depression or anxiety than members of the general working population, this can also be left untreated when returning back to a civilian life. My wish is to help combat stress related illnesses, through exercise and camaraderie. Hopefully allowing ex-service personnel to integrate back into the community.

I served in the British Army for 8 and a half years, after joining at 16. My role in the Army was a Physical Training Instructor, upon leaving the Army I have now qualified as a Personal Trainer and Fitness Tutor. However I know first hand how hard it is returning back to a civilian lifestyle  and I believe providing functional fitness classes is the key to help with combatting struggles some people may face once they have.

Some of the sessions I will conduct are: Military style boot camps, Boxing circuits, Metabolic Effect circuits, I wish to incorporate Spinning classes at a later date,  Family group PT sessions and a treatment room for massage etc.
