Kidney Cancer UK is a national charity that supports those touched by kidney cancer. We reach out to those who are struggling to come to terms with a diagnosis and the uncertainty of what may lie ahead.
With your support we are looking to establish a network of drop-in centres in set locations, which will give additional understanding, support and comfort to patients as well as family members and carers. Pressures on the NHS mean that on average a consultant only has a 10 to 15-minute window to deliver the news of a kidney cancer diagnosis. This short space of time means a patient has little or no time to question further this often devastating news. Our drop-in centres will provide patients with the opportunity to explore further the support available and options that may be open to them. We will offer support and advice to carers, as well as family members who may be struggling with the news of a loved ones diagnosis.
A nurse from our Health Professional team will be available to offer support and information and refer on, if desired, to our counsellor for our free telephone counselling sessions.
A £20 donation would pay for Kidney Cancer UK to give this vital support for half an hour at our drop-in centre.
We thank you for your support.
