Keepsakes for baby loss

Unfortunately this project was not successful.

To provide keepsakes for families affected by pregnancy, baby and child loss in the UK.

by Michelle McGunnagle in Ipswich, England, United Kingdom

After losing my first baby in pregnancy very early on in 2006, then having my rainbow baby son (1st baby after loss) in 2009 but then sadly losing another baby in 2010 this time was what changed me for ever,

I should of been 9 weeks pregnant but after a small bleed I was booked in for an emergency scan I remember those words that no one ever wants to hear (I'm sorry but there's no heartbeat) my baby had died within the womb at just 6 weeks because it was so early on I received no keepsakes to acknowledge my precious baby and not even offered any support,

A while after my partner brought us a teddy bear with our babies names on it, I found that this helped me in months to come, so I decided I wanted to do this for other families like mine so Bear for an angel was created.

We are hoping this money would help us to carry on our services providing no sew memory bears for families affected and bags of hope to Ipswich hospital,

We want to expand our services to more hospitals, funeral directors or related organisations,

We hope to get our own bespoke no sew teddy made that we can provide for free to families affected,

We also hope that we can start up a local support group for pregnancy loss once per month.

Got an idea like this?

Our crowd has raised over £70 million for bright ideas and good causes.
